The emulator is supplied as a ZIP file. It contains everything you need to get started right away, except for the games. Unzip it to the directory of your choice, and run modelb.exe.

The version number is given by the dates of the files in the ZIPs. The current version is 10/4/2004.

Any computer meeting the system requirements should run the emulator well in full screen mode. Performance in windowed mode may be poor with certain graphics cards or graphics drivers. Sound may affect performance on slower computers.

If the emulator complains about being unable to find MSVCP70.DLL or MSVCR70.DLL, you will need to download the DLL ZIP file. Unzip it into the emulator's directory.

Download DirectX 8 version (ZIP file, 1.4MB)

Suitable for Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. DirectX 8 (or better) must be installed.

Download DirectX 3 version (ZIP file, 1.4MB)

This version does not support joysticks and cannot use all the keys on the keyboard. You are urged not to use it unless you can't use the DirectX 8 version.

Suitable for Windows '95 or later, including Windows NT4. DirectX 3 must be installed; for NT4, you must have Service Pack 3 (or later) installed.

Download debug version (ZIP file, 1.4MB)

Download debug version patch (ZIP file, 190K)

Contains some basic programming and hacking type features that some may find useful. Unsupported.

You should download both the debug version and the debug version patch. Unzip the patch into the same place you unzipped the debug version. This fixes a bug whereby the emulator would crash when starting the running disassembly.

Suitable for Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. DirectX 8 (or better) must be installed.

Download source code (ZIP file, 290K)

Download source code patch (ZIP file, 1.5K)

This can be compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.

You should download both the source code and the source code patch. Unzip the patch into the same place you unzipped the source code.

Download DLL files (ZIP file, 300K)

May be required on some PCs.
